Room 2 is a friendly, happy little class and is the Junior room at Cannington School. We have started the year as a Year 2/3 class with 8 students.
To start the year, we are taking a look at the Treaty of Waitangi and why we have Waitangi Day. We are then going to study the Winter Olympics. We will look at the history, the countries involved, the sports and the athletes.
We share News everyday for Oral Language and for Written Language, we are learning how to write a recount. On Friday's we bring things into share for 'Sharing News'.
We do Reading everyday apart from Friday, and we bring books home at night to read to our parents. On Friday's we bring our Poetry book home to share over the weekend.
We are doing Numeracy for maths, but in the last two weeks of term we are going to learn about Statistics. We do 5 or 10 Basic Facts questions at the start of Maths.
Our Library day is on Friday as well, but only on the weeks that we don't have Assembly (just to confuse everyone)!
We have the Life Education Van coming to visit us in March, so we get to see Harold, yay!
We are hoping to get some more sunny days too, so we can make use of our school pool.
