- We had a visit from these very cute puppies!

We have been learning about ANZAC Day and WWI. On Friday 24 April, we made Anzac biscuits. Anzac biscuits got their name because during the War, the soldiers mothers and wives used to send them over for the soldiers to eat. They were really hard and they were sometimes called "hard tack" or "soldiers biscuits". The men had to dunk them in their cups of tea so they didn't break their teeth!
Our Anzac biscuits weren't hard though, they were yummy & soft and still warm from the oven! The Easter Bunny visited Room 2! He left us a note to say he had hidden Easter treats around the room. We had lots of fun finding our treats!
The note from the Easter Bunny says: "Hi Room 2! I have hidden treats for you all around your classroom. Look for your name but don't eat them till after lunch! Happy Easter! Be good. Love Easter Bunny XX. PS: keep up the good work especially with reading and writing. I wish my teacher was as cool as Miss Walker!" |
